Ms. Alice Burgdorfer

Our longtime member and former director Ms. Alice Burgdorfer passed away on February 1, 2017 at age 84. Ms. Burgdorfer joined the society in 1965 and served on the board in 1970. She resided in Mt. Gretna, PA and moved to Prescott, AZ in 2003.

Our board and members extend deepest sympathy to all who knew her during her life in Pennsylvania and Arizona.

Dr. E. Frank Muggler

Our longtime member, director and former Vice President, Dr. E. Frank Muggler, passed away on December 15, 2016 at age 90. Dr. Muggler and his wife Ruth joined the society in 1994. Dr. Muggler offered to serve on the board of directors in 1997 and was VP until his resignation in 2015. Dr. E. Frank Muggler and his wife were awarded Life Membership in 2015.

Our society will miss Dr. Muggler’s professional advice, and on behalf of our directors and members we extend deepest sympathy to the Muggler family.

Obituary

Mr. Howard Brooks

Our longtime member, Mr. Howard Brooks, Mount Laurel, NJ, passed away on April 12, 2016.

Howard served in the U.S. Navy aboard USS Houston during WWII. He survived the sinking of the ship, was a POW and was liberated in September 1945. The directors and members of our society extend deepest sympathy to the Brooks family.

Our longtime member, Mr. Anton Sidler, Wilmington, DE, passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2015.

A memorial service is planned for Monday, November 23, 2015, 11:00 am at the Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1120 Darley Road, Wilmington, DE 19810.

Mr. Samuel Laeuchli

Our society lost a longtime LIFE MEMBER and former Honorary Consul of Switzerland in Philadelphia.

Mr. Samuel Laeuchli passed away in Switzerland on November 7, 2014 at the age of 90 years.

“Sam was aware of his approaching death and said, “I have had such a wonderful life.” Despite sadness, there was a deep peace and almost a sense of celebration.”
