Congratulations

The Swiss Government and the General Consulate of Switzerland in New York chose Mrs. Christine Pfister as the new Honorary Consul in Philadelphia. We congratulate our member Christine on her new assignment and welcome her as our new representative. Christine Pfister takes the place of retiring Honorary Consul Franz Portmann who served the Swiss Community for many years. We thank Franz Portmann for all his support and wish Christine Pfister great success in her new position.

Our society mourns the passing of Mr. Johann Buerkli. Mr. Buerkli had joined this society in 2009 along with his wife Isolde.

Mr. Johann Buerkli died on Thursday, February 10, 2011.

The society extends deepest sympathy to Mrs. Buerkli and her family.

My dear Friends,

with enormous sadness I like to inform you, that my dear husband Stan suffered a massive cerebral hemorrhage on Friday, January 21, 2011.

Excellent neurological surgeons tried everything to safe his live at Albert Einstein Hospital.

Surrounded by his loving family, Stanton Pressman passed on peacefully on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 without ever regaining his consciousness.

A memorial service date will be announce later and his burial will be private.

I will forever miss him,
